Cox and Sikorsky to present paper at American Helicopter Society meeting
Plainview, N.Y. April 12, 2010 In conjunction with the US Army, Cox is teamed with Sikorsky to develop an improved deice system for the UH-60 (Blackhawk) rotor blades. A technical paper will be presented at the American Helicopter Society's annual meeting in Phoenix on May 11 - May 13 that highlights the program's accomplishments. Cox's unique heater technology uses proprietary materials and state-of-art termination methods that are expected to dramatically improve the reliability of the main and tail rotor heaters. The test apparatus being used to qualify the heater is the first of its kind for the helicopter industry and has a patent pending for its innovation.
